Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic and this week’s topic is: Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish
1) The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare – TBR: City of Heavenly Fire (and all of the novellas)
2) His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman – TBR: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass
3) The Maze Runner series by James Dashner – TBR: The Kill Order (prequel)
4) The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan – TBR: The House of Hades, The Blood of Olympus
5) The Legend Series by Marie Lu – TBR: Champion
6) The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud – TBR: The Ring of Solomon (prequel)
7) The Syrena Legacy by Anna Banks – TBR: Of Triton, Of Neptune (not sure if this series is actually finished)
8) Precious Stone Trilogy by Kerstin Gier – TBR: Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green
9) The Paper Magician Trilogy by Charlie N. Holmberg – TBR: The Paper Magician, The Glass Magician, The Master Magician
10) The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken – TBR: The Darkest Minds, Never Fade, In The Afterlight (not sure if this series is actually finished either)
I haven’t finished The Legend Series, His Dark Materials, or The Mazerunner books either. Too many books too little time, I guess.

The Mortal Instruments and Heroes of Olympus are on my list as well, I might read them eventually but I just haven’t felt interested in doing so sadly. I absolutely love His Dark Materials, I still consider it to be one of my favorite books and read it every couple of years. I will admit, it is most definitely not for everyone, though I do hope you like it if/when you choose to read it. Great list! =)

Thanks! I definitely plan on reading it. We even have the books but my husband wants to read them with me so I’ve been holding off on them. They seem right up my alley though!

I love that you and your husband are going to read them together! It is definitely a trilogy which can foster a lot of discussion. Eeee, I am so excited for you and envious of the whole first time reader feeling you get to experience, lol. Again, I hope you guys love it.

Thanks! My husband has read them before (which is surprising because before he met me he wasn’t a very big reader) so I know it’s gotta be good! I think he wants to read them with me for the same reason though! The whole “first time read-through” is a powerful thing 😉

I have a word document on my computer called “Next Up” where I keep track of where I am in a series. When I put a series down for a while, sometimes it’s tough to figure out where to pick back up (did I read this one already? am I skipping one by accident?) I read the first His Dark Materials on a trip to Ecuador. I think I finished the whole series, but I can’t quite remember as it was several years ago now.
By the way, you’ve been chosen as one of today’s nine blogs in That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge (http://www.thatssojacob.wordpress.com)! I challenge you to find nine blogs you find interesting and give them a comment to brighten their day…well, eight other blogs and mine 🙂 Copy this message in your comment and enjoy your new blog friends!

Thanks! And that’s totally what has happened with the Rick Riordan series! I’m pretty sure I haven’t read the last two, but I’m not positive. That’s such a good idea about the spreadsheet though! I do love spreadsheets…

I just started Scorch Trials. I’ve only read the Kane Chronicles by Riordan. I think I need to add Syrena to me list, and I forgot about His Dark Materials. So many books! So little time!

So true! I like Riordan’s other series because I’m really interested in Greek and Roman mythology, but I just haven’t had the time to read them!

I’m more into Edyptian mythology, and since there are only three books, and I was able to check them all out at once, I read them. But I want to read his other books. He’s got a new series coming out that is Norse based that I’m sure will be just as popular.

I didn’t know that! I’ll definitely have to check it out.

I really enjoyed the beginnings of both Maze Runner and Legend, I just have to get around to finishing them!

I got conned into seeing the maze runner movie before reading the first book and I really wasn’t all that impressed so I’m hoping the books can win me back!

I hope so too! I felt like the movie would have been really confusing for someone who hadn’t read the book. I just asked my husband (he watched it with me but hasn’t read the books) and he said that he was a little confused and felt like he was missing something. I definitely think this story is better off as a book.

Yah that’s what I was hoping. My nephew whose taste in YA lit I trust completely loves the series so I’m definitely giving them a go!
