BOOK TAG: The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

Hello! I was tagged for this tag by Joey @Thoughts and Afterthoughts

How long have you been a blogger?

I started my blog in March of this year but before that I had another blog that I started in high school. I maintained it through my first year of college and it was more of a lifestyle blog. After I met my husband, I got super busy and just didn’t have the time to keep maintaining it. I started this blog once I graduated from college and had more time on my hands.

At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

Let me say first that I don’t PLAN on ever stopping. However, I could see life getting busy once I start my Master’s program this Fall or once my husband and I start having kids. I’ll definitely have less time to read and so less to really talk about on my blog. That could be something that might make me stop blogging. Life.

What’s the best thing about blogging?

I love seeing other people’s thoughts on books. Also, it’s a great place to get book recommendations! Something that I really loved was how quick people were to recommend audiobooks and graphic novels when I asked. I got SO many good recommendations. I just love the bookish community in general!

What’s the worst thing about blogging?

The worst thing for me is getting too obsessed over views and other stats. If I haven’t posted on a certain day, then I see a drop in my stats. That makes me feel like I need to post EVERY DAY even though I know that I don’t! So the worst thing about blogging is just myself really.

How long does it take for you to find/create pictures for your post?

Uhhh….about one minute. I just Google…I know that’s not exactly the most legal way to do it…but I’m like promoting your book so don’t get mad at me!

Who is your book crush?

Okay, sorry to be a total killjoy on this one, but I don’t have one. I’ve seriously married the guy of my dreams and I compare every romantic interest that I read about to him. Ladies, no fictional guy can compare to the real thing.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Sarah Dessen. No question. I’ve been a big fan of hers for ages and she seems like the kindest, most down-to-earth person.

What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Just…whatever I’m wearing? I don’t really get this question.

How long does it take you to prepare?

Just reading the book. I often take notes in a notebook, so I might read over those real quick before I start writing, but nothing really to specifically prepare me for a post.

How do you feel about the book/blogger community?

I LOVE IT. Everyone is so kind and friendly! I’ve seriously been so surprised by how welcoming everyone is!

What should be done to achieve a successful blog?

Just love your blog. If you love it and love what books you’re reading and the content that you’re putting out there, then I think you’re successful.

Alright, this was a pretty fun post! As usual, I tag anyone who wants to do it! 🙂

    1. My two favorite are The Truth About Forever and Saint Anything. Close behind would be What Happened to Goodbye and Along for the Ride. I’d suggest taking a look at the summary for those four and picking whichever sounds best to you. Then tell me what you think!
