Top Ten Tuesday: Summer TBR

top-ten-tuesday
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  Each week there is a new topic and this week’s topic is: Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

Hmmm…this topic feels pretty similar to Exciting Late 2015 Releases and Great Beach Reads but I’ll go along with it. I guess this one is more a combination of the two. Daniela @books-to-get-lost-in has helped me firm my resolve to get through some of the books that have been sitting on my Kindle forever. This summer will be the summer of The Great Kindle TBR Read-a-Thon. Feel free to join in! Whether you want to tackle your Kindle TBR or your physical TBR, all are welcome! I pledge that the majority of the books I read for the rest of the summer will be from my Kindle or ARCs that I’ve received. So here’s a list of ten books that are on my Kindle that I plan to read this summer:

On the Fence by Kasie West
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord
The 100 by Kass Morgan
The Paper Magician by Charlie N Holmberg
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
Uninvited by Sophie Jordan
The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler
Queen of Someday by Sherry D Ficklin
Jackaby by William Ritter
The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Has anyone read any of these books? What did you think? And who’s willing to join me on my quest?

  1. On the Fence is such a cute summer read! It finally made me love Kasie West, The Distance Between Us just didn’t work for me. I can’t wait to read Red Rising, it sounds soo good and I heard many great things about it. 🙂 Open Road Summer is on my TBR as well.
Hope you’ll enjoy all these novels. 🙂

  2. Yeah, I thought this topic was very similar to the same ones you listed, so I tried adding a different set of books. I’ll be catching up on my ARCs this summer, too. I’ve been wanting to read The 100 after I found out that the show was based on the book. I haven’t read The Book of Broken Hearts but I read Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler and I like her writing style. Great list! I hope you get to complete your TBR. I’m looking forward to reviews from these books!

    1. Haha wow, I didn’t even know there was a Red Rising #2 at this point.

But I haven’t been watching The 100 the show only because I wanted to read the book and have that in my mind first. I thought I’d get to it sooner. At this point, I’m not sure if I’ll go back and watch the show or not.

      1. I feel like most people I talk to enjoy the show more than the books (but then again, I don’t know if they’ve read it). I know in terms of characters, it’s different. And less emphasis on romance in the show than in the books. That’s about it. The show isn’t mindblowing but it’s decent for a CW Network show.

  3. A Kindle clean-up is an excellent idea! I need to join in, but I’ve got so many other things to read right now …

So, I’ve read a few of the books on your list. ON THE FENCE is cute. It’s my favorite of West’s books because it has more depth than her others. I didn’t love THE PAPER MAGICIAN or THE 100. I haven’t read anything by Sarah Ockler yet, but I’m excited about her new one, THE SUMMER OF CHASING MERMAIDS. It looks really good.

    Happy TTT!

    1. That’s good to hear about Uninvited! I haven’t really heard anyone talking about it (it’s been out for a while though, so that might be why). You’ve got a great list too! I really liked Splintered, but haven’t been able to get to the other books in the series yet.

  4. I was similar with the “this week feels similar to the past two weeks” feeling. I’ve got repeats from both of those TTTs on My list this week.

I’m reading Jackaby right now (though not on my Kindle), and its alright so far, though I’m not very far in yet.
