#ReadingMyLibrary Challenge Wrap-up

This month I’ve been participating in the #ReadingMyLibrary Challenge. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve really appreciated the nudge to get back out to my library!

This month I didn’t read as many library books as I usually do since I started to read some ARCs. But I did get in five–two physical and three ebooks. But here’s how much money I saved from checking out books instead of buying them! (Prices according to Amazon.)

Ready Player One – $7.58
Born of Deception – $14.21
Ruin and Rising – $12.25
A Cold Legacy – $13.59
Dangerous – $9.99

Total Savings: $57.62

I feel pretty good about that! I encourage everyone to use local libraries! They’re such a great resource. They have all kinds of events and such happening all the time and, of course, a ton of books and movies for people to check out.

Book Haul/May Releases to be Excited About

Hello readers!

First, the book haul. Total spent: $4 at the library + $7.42 at the used bookstore = $11.42

Starting at the bottom…

1) City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare – Second in the Immortal Instruments series. Just adding to the collection (my goal is to get all nine of the books, including the prequel series, in hardback).

2) The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd – I LOVE this series. So good.

3) Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs – Another book that I really like. The binding is broken a little bit so I’m going to try my hand at some book repair. Anyone know if it’s okay to use super glue on book bindings? Let me know before I do anything drastic/damaging.

4) Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare – The third book in the Infernal Devices series. It was between this and the first book, Clockwork Angel. This one was $1 cheaper and the cover listed it as a “Collector’s First Edition”. I’ll admit that I don’t really know what that all entails, but I figured it’d be worth adding to my collection.

Next section! May Releases to be Excited About. I feel like ALL OF THE BOOKS are being released in May. I probably won’t end up reading most of these right away, but hopefully in a couple of months the fervor will have died down a bit and I can check them out from the library.

5/5 Releases:
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge – Based on Little Red Riding Hood. I just like this world that she’s created.
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen – Sarah Dessen is an insta-read for me so…I don’t really care what it’s about.
The Fill-in Boyfriend by Kasie West – Classic “I’m going to hire someone to pretend to be my boyfriend but then–oops!–we’re going to fall in love.” How can I not read?
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass – Fairy kidnapping turned into love? Sounds like something I’d like.
The Heir by Kiera Cass – I mostly liked the first three books in this series. Any problems that I had were usually centered around all of the girls fighting for one guy. Hopefully with a bunch of guys going for one girl there will be less drama. Also, interested to see America and Maxon grown up.

5/19 Release:
Illusionarium by Heather Dixon – Author of Entwined which I LOVED. Also, compared to The Night Circus which I also LOVED.

5/26 Releases:
Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton – Promises to have a ton of drama. Intense competition for the prima ballerina spot at an elite dance school.
The Cage by Megan Shepherd – Girl gets dropped off in strange cage with other strange teenagers. Intriguing premise and I really liked Megan Shepherd’s The Madman’s Daughter trilogy.
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – I thought the first book was super cute so I’m excited to see more of Peter/Lara Jean!
